Pinhoe Station was closed during the Beecham Axe but was reopened in the 1980s to serve the redevelopment of the eastern side of Exeter around the village of Pinhoe. The small village was sucked into the large Devon city and is surrounded by some beautiful countryside. Trains run as part of the Waterloo to Exeter Railway.
