This station is famous unfortunately for a great tragedy that took place in 1917 when 11 New Zealand soldiers were killed by an oncoming locomotive after stepping off a train at the station. Bere Ferres Station is on the Southern Mainline and is close to Oakhampton between Plymouth and Exeter. The station is set in the beautiful Devon countryside serving the village of the same name.
