Barnstaple Station is on the Tarka Line in Devon serving the small town of Barnstaple. The station provides mainline services to the much larger city of Exeter. The area in the centre of the town around the station is famed for its association with the meat industry. Butchers Row used to have over thirty butchers shops on it and there is thought to have been a Saxon market in the same area. The town lies on the banks of the river Taw.
