Ayr Station is in a town situated on the Firth of Clyde in the southwest of Scotland. The town boasts a great many examples of fine architecture ranging from churches to public buildings. Near to the station is Glasgow Prestwick Airport which is one of the short haul capitals of Scotland. Also in the area is the Prestwick Golf Course that is one of the best in Scotland. Ayr is famed for its racecourse which hosts regular meets throughout the season.
