Ardrossan Harbour Station is in the harbour area of Ardrossan. On a clear day visitors are treated to a breathtaking view of the Isle of Arran across the sea. Immediately outside the harbour is the small island called Horse Island. This is an RSPB bird sanctuary and is home to some rare sea birds including the Lesser Black Backed Gull. The town was built around the castle of the same name and still has many fine examples of ancient buildings.
