Effectively this station is the railway head for the Lulworh Cove area of Dorset and the industrial sites that stand on the former Winfrith Atomic Energy Plant. The station also serves the town of Wool which is nearby in the Dorset countryside. Trains service the station as a part of the South West Mainline.
