Sandwiched between Leatherhead and Epson, Ashtead Station serves a large commuter village in Surrey. The station is surrounded by common land and large green areas that make it a charming place to live and visit. Mentioned in Samuel Pepys’ diaries the area has always been of cultural importance to the county of Surrey and has a good selection of artistic and cultural pursuits for visitors to indulge in. Notably Ashtead Pottery and the ancient St. Gile’s church are well worth a visit.
