This railway station is the main railway access point for the people of Trefforest in South Wales, a medium sized village set in wonderful valley countryside. The station enjoys rail services as part of two lines, the Rhondda Railway and the Merthyr Line which terminates in the centre of Cardiff. The station is close to the University of Glamorgan.
