This small station is the main railway station for the village of West Byfleet in the Surrey countryside. Just outside the M25 Motorway the village is heavily populated by commuters and bound in by the Navigation Canal and the Basingstoke Canal. Trains operate to the station on the Alton Railway and the Weybridge to London Line.
