Margate is one of the classic English seaside destinations on the Kent coast. Once this station would have been an extremely busy facility every summer as thousands flocked to the seaside for their holidays. Although still a popular spot, like much of the English seaside there is less demand in modern times. The station is on the Ramsgate Branch of the Chatham Main Line.
