About four miles from Maidstone, Aylesford Station serves a large village on the River Medway in Kent, the Garden of England. The settlement has a history that can be traced back to Neolithic times. There are many buildings of great antiquity in the centre of the village, notably the Chequers public house and the Almhouses. The area is a popular place to start boat trips on the river and enjoy the wonderful surounding countryside.
