This station serves the large Northern Irish town of Antrim in County Antrim. The town is surrounded by area of significant interest to the tourist including the magnificent Antrim Castle and Shan’s Castle. Like many Irish towns the area has a wealth of magnificent churches of all denominations. Historically the town has suffered some sectarian violence but in recent years has become a more harmonious place.
