Interestingly, New Brighton is no where near Brighton, the famous seaside town in Sussex, in fact it is situated on Merseyside in the north west of England. The station is responsible for servicing the rail transport needs of the Wirral community and regular trains arrive and depart the station as part of the Merseyrail Wirral Line.
