Eccles Station is the major transport interchange for the town of Eccles which would have once been a quite separate town but through the growth of both Manchester and Salford has been swallowed into a suburban area. The station is relatively well used by commuter traffic and has services leaving on a regular basis for Liverpool, Chester and Manchester.
