This station is the terminus of the Blackpool Branch Line from the nearby town of Preston. The interchange serves the northern end of ‘The Golden Mile’ that is Blackpool’s famous seafront that attracts tourists from across the country. Entertainment facilities, shops, guesthouses and hotels that cater for the huge tourist population all year round surround the station.
