This station is on the southern route of the Liverpool to Manchester Line and is located in the northeastern corner of Warrinton. The station serves Birchwood that is an area of the larger city of Warrington in northwest England. The area is mainly residential and expanded largely around the station after the development of a ‘new town’ style project in the area some decades ago.
