The administrative centre of the Borough of Tameside, Ashton Under Lyne Station is a large town close to Greater Manchester in the northwest of England. One of the largest attractions to the town is the Portland Basin Museum that is based in a former warehouse next to the Canal. The Museum of the Manchester Regiment is also worth a visit.
