Although the second least expensive property on the Monopoly board, Whitechapel has begun to change its reputation as being a run down and poor area. In recent years the area has become quite trendy and attracted much investment from developers, buying up houses and shops and renovating them. A good deal of fashionable bars, clubs and restaurants has begun to spring up down the Whitechapel Road in east London.
