West Ham is a mainly residential area of east London. In modern times the suburb has become quite ethnically diverse and examples of this can be seen on the vibrant shopping streets. The area is most famous for its top-flight football club West Ham United. They have a long and proud history in the English league and supplied many of the players involved in the England 1966 World Cup Winning side including captain Bobby Moore and hatrick hero Geoff Hurst.
