Although not actually closest to Wembley Stadium or Wembley arena, this station is the preferred interchange for these facilities due to the ease of connections from the station. The old Wembley Stadium was famed for its twin towers and hosted not only the World Cup Final that England won in 1966 but also the Live Aid Concert of 1985. The new Wembley Stadium was constructed over a period of five years on the same site and is equally impressive with its enormous steel arch that casts a shadow across the suburb.
