The Tate Modern art gallery is housed in a disused power station just a few minutes walk from this station. The gallery is home to some of the most prominent works of contemporary art and installation pieces on the planet. A few minutes walk in the other direction and visitors are treated to Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre which is a fully rebuilt replica of the original. It shows plays in the evening and can be toured during the day.
