This area of London, just east of The City has for many years been popular with the Asian community. Brick Lane is the curry capital of London with tens of independent Indian, Pakistani and Bangladeshi restaurants competing for custom. The area is popular with artists and writers and has several very good galleries as well as many coffee shops, bars and clubs. The station is on the East London Line.
