The station is on the Docklands Light Railway Beckton branch between Canning Town and Custom House in Travelcard zone 3. The station in east London’s Docklands area is named after the Royal Victoria Dock that was once one of the many busy parts of the Old London Docks, now no longer in commercial use. Today the area is mainly used by commercial organisations as office space in the ever-expanding business district around Canary Wharf.
