One of the stations that marks the boundary between Greater London and metropolitan Essex, Redbridge is in the London Borough of the same name. The area is largely residential but has a good selection of shops and pubs. Redbridge is mentioned in Douglas Adam’s classic science fiction novel ‘The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy’ as home of the worst poet in the universe.
