Interestingly this station is at the centre of the site that will in 2012 be the Olympic village. It is thought that before this time the station will be closed for safety reasons as it has very small platforms. Originally the place on the Docklands Light Railway where the station is was just a crossing point for trains. The station was built to serve the small residential community of Marshfield Lane.
