Acton is a largely affluent area of west London close to Ealing. It has a long history and was once a small village a few miles from London before being swallowed up into the conurbation. During the Second World War the area attracted a small but influential Polish community whose presence can still be seen. In recent years he area has become extremely popular with young Australian, New Zealand and South African working holidaymakers and young professionals.
