Hounslow is a large area of west London with a reputation for being cosmopolitan and friendly. It surrounds the perimeter of London Heathrow Airport that is Britain’s gateway to the world. In the centre of Hounslow is a busy shopping street, many restaurants, bars and pubs. Hounslow Heath is a large green area just outside the centre of the main town and is home to the Cavalry Barracks. Interestingly the Hounslow Harriers football team were the team used in the film ‘Bend it Like Beckham’.
