This station forms the borderline between Travelcard zones 2 and three and is part of the Docklands Light Railway automated train network that was introduced as part of the Underground in the late nineteen eighties. The station serves a residential area of Deptford known as Elm Park and is surrounded by shops and has local street markets operating nearby. The nearest major station is Lewisham.
