Croxley, like many of the northern stations on the Metropolitan Line is not in Greater London; in fact it is in metropolitan Hertfordshire, in the Three Rivers district. It is close to Watford that is a regional hub with a great deal of modern entertainment and shopping facilities. The station itself looks a little like a cottage on a sleepy suburban street, a far cry from the busy central London tube stations.
