Opened in 1999 by Mayor of London Ken Livingstone, this flagship station has quickly become one of the busiest in London, serving the ever-expanding docklands business district. Part of the Jubilee extension to serve the Millennium Dome project the station is directly beneath Canada Tower, the tallest building in the United Kingdom. The station acts as an interchange between the Underground proper and the Dockland Light Railway.
