This station was originally built to serve the ferry services that run out of the port of Gourick but in recent times has also been used to serve the town too. The terminus of the Inverclyde Railway Line, services operate on a regular basis connecting the town with other parts of Scotland. The trains tend to leave at the same time as the ferry to Dunoon.
