Alness Station is in Ross and Cromarty in the north of Scotland. It serves a small village divided by the River Averon. In the late twentieth century the tiny village saw some large-scale expansion in housing to accommodate the influx of workers in the oil and aluminium industries. The village is noted for being full of friendly people and taking a real pride in its appearance, always getting involved in the Scotland in Bloom festival.
