The new town of Telford grew up in the 1960s and today is a rather important part of the county of Shropshire. The railway station is located close to the town centre and the many amenities that are on offer there. Telford Station serves a large commuter and leisure passenger base who travel on the Cambrian Line and the Birmingham to Shrewsbury Railway.
