This station is on the western side of the Severn Tunnel at Rogiet and is therefore just in South Wales. To the west one would find Newport Station and the next station to the east is on the Gloucestershire side of the tunnel in England at Pilning. The station is on the main South Wales Line which connects the area with London and southern England.
