This station serves the village of Gobowen and the nearby town of Oswestry in the rural Shropshire countryside. The facility is located on the Shrewsbury to Chester Railway Line. Most rains travel hourly to both ends of the line although there are some services that go on into Wales and to Cardiff Central Station.
