This station is a bit of an oddity as because of its position just off the mainline, many trains have to reverse to leave the facility and rejoin the main railway network. The station is the principle transport interchange for the town of Gloucester and was formerly known as Gloucester Central Station. It is on several major railway lines in the area and offers a wealth of suburban and intercity services.
