Acocks Green Station is in a suburb of Birmingham, Englands second city. The area is one of the most historic and influential in the history of Birmingham. The station and the area are named after the Acocks family who once built a large house in the area, the suburb has thrived in the last few hundred years. Once associated with small shops and a lively commercial sector, the character of the area has changed in recent years with more high density housing being built close to the station and the small shops closing down being replaced by standard high street chains.
