This station is situated in the oldest Burgh in Scotland, Rutherglen. The area around the station is steeped in history and there are some magnificent buildings in the centre of the community to marvel at. The area is now effectively a suburb of Glasgow to the south west, but was once an independent town. Trains run as part of the Argyle Line.
