This is the only airport in Scotland that has a direct rail link to the airport itself. The station serves the relatively new Glasgow Prestwick Airport which is near to the town of Prestwick in South Ayrshire. The airport is extremely popular with budget airlines that fly regular services all over Europe from this short haul capital of Scotland on the Ayrshire Railway.
