One of eight railway stations in the town, Greenock West Station is the primary rail interchange for the western part of the community. Served by the Inverclyde Railway Line the station has services running through it from Gourock to Glasgow. The station is a busy commuter facility and close to the James Watt College and therefore has a large student usage.
