This station is located on the Weyss Bay to Glasgow Central Railway Line and effectively serves a suburb of the town of Greenoch in the Inverclyde area of Scotland. The area immediately around the station has for decades been dominated by tenement blocks and has a reputation for being socially deprived although regeneration at the beginning of the twenty first century has begun to turn the area around.
