Anderston Station once served a small village on the banks of the River Clyde but in recent times has been swallowed up by the ever growing city of Glasgow. The area close to the station has become the financial district of the vibrant city and has therefore prospored dramatically from its important part of the local economy. The Finnieston Crane is one of Glasgows most famous landmarks and stands on the banks of the river in Anderston. Much of the old Anderston is being demolished to make way for more skyscrapers and hotels.
