Basildon Station serves the Essex Newtown of Basildon on the Fenchurch Street to Shoebryness Railway Line. The station is located at the centre of the large town and is surrounded by the usual mixture of high street shops that one would expect in a new town. Although a new town, Basildon has a history in parts that can be traced back to the Norman conquests and therefore it is worth looking closer at some of the buildings for clues to a secret history.
