Situated in a valley at the foot of the Chiltern Hills, Apsley Station serves a small town in Hertfordshire close to Hemel Hempstead. The area around the station is a busy commercial centre and has a wide array of quaint shops housed in Victorian buildings and converted mills. The town has always had an importance as an industrial and trading point because of its proximity to the Grand Union Canal. The area is home to a great many commuters who travel to London daily.
