Ermine Road is one of the major roads that the Romans built during their occupation of Britain. Ancaster Station is built on this road and the community it serves is thought to date back to these times. In the beautiful countryside of Lincolnshire the area around the station is awash with archelogical finds and has been feauttured several times in major television excavations of the UK. The station is close to the larger commercial centres of Sleaford and Grantham.
